We have organized a bareboat charter to cruise the BVIs in the winter.
Discovering the beauty of the British Virgin Islands. This is the perfect place to get away from the cold winters. Temperature range from high seventies to eighties and lows that rarely (if ever) fall below the mid-sixties. https://www.bvitourism.com/
The BVIs are the perfect place for relaxing sailing between locations and beautiful beaches. Ample time to swim, snorkel (diving arranged cost) or just relax on the beach. Fly into the BVIs then cruise from Saturday to Saturday (7 days) on a bareboat charter vessel skippered by a captain (Stephen Yip).
On board, we’ll be making and sharing group meals for several nights. Restaurants provide ample opportunities to take a break on land and catch up at the local watering holes.
Boat Type: 40 foot Catamaran (4 double cabins). Catamarans are our preferred choice as they have spacious accommodation, inside and outside dining area, ample water capacity, and plenty of refrigeration for beverages.
Typical Itinerary (subject to crew desires and weather):
- Day 1: Arrive at base (load provisions and relax on the boat the first night)
- Day 2: Head out to Virgin Gorda – to settle into “island time”
- Day 3: Stay in Virgin Gorda Sound. This is where we can relax on the beach, go for a hike or stay at home.
- Day 4: Depending on conditions we’ll head out to to Anegada (about 15 miles from Virgin Gorda), a reef island to really get away. Desolate sandy beaches are everywhere.
- Day 5: Sail downwind to Jost Van Dyke
- Day 6: Sail to Peter Island
- Day 7: Spend the night at Marina Cay
- Day 8: Return to base and reluctantly get ready to head home!
Date: January 22th, 2022 to January 29th, 2022
Cost: Double occupancy ($1,750 p.p.) includes mooring costs, water, fuel. Excludes airfare to USVI, ground transportation, dinners ashore, provisioning, alcoholic beverages and other sundry items. Diving can also be arranged at additional cost.
