Skipper Certification Test
Prerequisites for challenging the Certification Test:
- Recommendation of a Club Fleet Captain or Sail Club Coach, or
- Discretion of the Director of Sailing Operations. It is normally granted to experienced skippers from another NY Harbor sailing club or an experienced Melges 24/J80 skipper.
- Taken Learn-to-Skipper Module 1 within the last 18 months.
The cost for challenging the test will be $75 per attempt. Certifiers will identify potential areas of improvement regardless of whether Skipper privileges are granted.
